WSI Provides One of Its Trainers to the State of
Iowa Library PLOW (Putting Libraries on the WEB)
Project
Press Release
WSI has recently been awarded a small but
important contract by the Iowa Department of
Education, State of Iowa Library to provide training
in direct hands-on Content Management System usage
to groups of librarians at training sessions held
throughout the state of Iowa.
This is an important project as it impacts the
evolving role of libraries in Iowa. The advancement
of digital technology has had a huge impact on all
aspects of life, and libraries need to maximize
technology usage in order to insure that they
maintain the role of a primary information source.
WSI's training will break down many of the
technological barriers that have prevented
librarians from being able to place information on
library websites.
The importance of breaking down this barrier was
recognized by the Bill and Melinda Gates Foundation,
which is funding the training.
As
a company who has helped many private sector clients
to overcome this same problem, WSI appreciates the
need for high-quality training. The PLOW program is
a very professional, trainee-centric and
well-planned program which we believe should achieve
the highest possible level of success.
WSI is proud to be associated with this program.
